Las Islas Marias - Kansas City: Authentic Seafood and Latin Flavors in a Welcoming Atmosphere

Great place to come out to. Our server was great she made sure we were taken care of. The food here is amazing. I don't know what gave one of the previous commenter the idea that this was Texmex but Texmex is absolutely terrible when it comes to an authentic restaurant like this. That comment made me chuckle. The flavors of the food were delicious and yes they have a bunch of seafood options but there are enough non seafood options. My dish was absolutely delicious. It had an Alfredo taste to it. I also had a pina colada which was delicious and as I'd expect it to taste. I highly recommend this place especially if you like seafood.

Came for an early lunch. The food was okay but the drink I had was amazing for the price. Overall my first experience there was enjoyable! I’ll definitely come back for the drinks.

I have been eye balling this restaurant for years and finally decided to venture in. Empanadas are my favorite Latin cuisine food. From Boston, Massachusetts to The Dalles, Oregon; it’s a wonderful meal to have. The thousand island looking sauce was delicious as was the empanadas. My only critic is I wish they would have cleaned the shrimp better. The after bite tastes like they left the intestinal tract intact which creates a sandy gritty unintended crunch. Also, the competition in town adds more than sauce. The empanadas I have consistently come with cheese, lettuce, avocado, tomato and sour cream. Still, I’m glad I stopped in.

First time going there My cousin took me there the girl who was our server was very nice food came right on time for me the ceviche and The shrimp empanadas totally recommended . music love it I definitely recommend it and definitely will be back

Amazing service from Lourdes our server. She was sweet and personable and brought us our dishes quickly. Food was excellent especially liked the salsas, tostados and fish/veggie ceviche that come as the starter. The sauce that comes with the levanta muertos is delicious and the bay scallops were melt in your mouth tender. Atmosphere is inviting and low key. We will be back!

This was my second visit. After the first visit I wanted to return. A coworker wanted the name of a good seafood restaurant in Merriam. I suggested Las Islas Marias. We drove all the out 30 minutes and everyone was impressed. I got the seafood pasta, best I've every had. Delicious!!

We were in a rush to get to the airport in KC and they served us the meal so quickly. They were friendly and helpful. You get free delicious shrimp ceviche for your appetizer when you arrive at your table! We want to go back when we're not in a rush! The food is all very good!
